About Me
I'm Liz Weissman, M.Ed. and Certified Life Coach
Let’s get the credentials out of the way so we can dive into the good stuff!

In addition to being a mom to two spirited boys, I’m a credentialed Moderate/Severe Special Education Teacher with a Master’s Degree and a Certified Life Coach.

I’ve faced challenges like dodging chairs thrown at my head, wiping spit from my eyes, and dealing with bruises and bites while working in intensive special education settings. Through it all, I stayed calm, treated my students with unconditional positive regard, and took pride in my ability to handle difficult situations with grace.

But then… plot twist.

My own kids came along, and wow—none of those professional challenges came close to the emotional rollercoaster of raising my own children! Despite my education and experience, nothing fully prepared me for the daily highs and lows of parenthood.

Parenting humbled me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I often found myself doubting my decisions, struggling to manage my emotional responses, and getting stuck in shame cycles when I made mistakes.

Eventually, I realized I had a choice: I could let self-doubt and shame continue shaping my parenting, or I could commit to the challenging work of personal growth to become the parent I wanted to be.

I chose growth.
I came to terms with the fact that, as the adult and leader of my family, I was responsible for setting the tone and creating the changes I wanted to see. This realization—both empowering and frightening—gave me the energy to tackle the work ahead.

To get there, I focused on:
-
Improving my emotional intelligence (therapy was a huge part of this!),
-
Building a strong support system and finding community, and
-
Creating practical plans to navigate difficult moments.

Just as I had to realize for myself, and you may be realizing now in your family, the journey to becoming the parent you want to be requires consciousness, self-reflection, self-compassion, and a willingness to do the hard work. Parents who work with me are ready to embrace that challenge.

Yes, it can feel like a lot of pressure to know your family dynamic is your responsibility. The good news is you don’t have to do it perfectly—good enough truly is good enough—and you don’t have to do it alone.

In my coaching, I provide a shame-free, judgment-free space where you can show up exactly as you are: messy hair, spit-up on your shirt, tears streaming, or dropping colorful obscenities (guilty as charged!). You haven't brushed your teeth yet and it's 11:00am? You show up to your call with your kids screaming in the background? It's okay. Just show up, because that's what makes the change happen. You’re welcome here, because I’ve been there, and I know how essential unconditional support is on this parenting journey.

While therapy is outside my scope, I offer coaching to provide the community, support, and practical guidance you need to create the family life you’re striving for.

Here’s what I aim to bring to and foster in every session:

-
Unconditional Support
You deserve a space free of judgment and shame, where it’s okay to make mistakes. I don’t expect you to be a perfect parent; I only ask that you show up with a willingness to self-reflect honestly as we work toward the version of yourself you want to be. -
Self-Trust
Together, we’ll help you get in touch with your parental intuition, clarify your family values, and create a vision for the family you want to lead. With clarity and confidence, you’ll be able to parent in alignment with your goals. -
Practical Guidance
I’ll support your parental intuition with effective discipline strategies, teaching and modeling techniques, and plans to create an environment where your child can develop essential skills for success. -
Celebrating Your Family’s Uniqueness
Your family is one of a kind, and your parenting approach should reflect that. You’ll bring your background, beliefs, and values, and I’ll bring my expertise to ensure you’re equipped to make empowered decisions that work for your family.

"This is a deep thank you to [Liz]... the work itself is challenging on a bunch of levels but is so worth it to me... I'm having a bunch of lightbulb moments, then grumbling moments, then huge shifts in the way I'm looking at things, including simply my son."
