Happy Herd Homeschool Program at Los Gatos Farms

​

This is an experiential outdoor learning program in which students meet once/week for 2 hours at the farm for some fun and hands-on learning!

​

Not only is this a fantastic social opportunity for your homeschooler, working with horses has been consistently shown to help youth build confidence, establish strong social-emotional skills, and create foundations for essential life skills.

​

Plus being at the farm is physical in itself – and working with horses adds a whole new component. You can be sure those Physical Education requirements are met during class!

​

We value the relationship between humans and nature, and this is an integral part of our curriculum. Classes will include nature study, science, language arts, math and other relevant subjects all within the context of horse-related activities at the barn.

​

Through our activities, learners also develop basic horse safety, care and handling skills. For anyone interested in eventually learning to ride, these are essential foundations that will set them up for success both off the horse, and on! **Horse Riding lessons available separately**

We need a minimum of 3 children to start a new group.

​

Wild Ponies: Ages 5-10 (Weds 9-11am)

Mustangs: Ages 11-18 (Thurs 2-4pm)

​

Classes run on a semester schedule. We are now enrolling for October 2022-January 2023!

​

12 sessions

 

Cost: $720 paid in full, or 4 monthly payments of $198

​

While content and lesson plans will be tailored to the age and ability of the students in each class, if you’d like your child to be able to participate in the same class as their different-age sibling, we may be able to arrange this by special request.
